About this beach
Água de Alto Beach is the main sandy beach of São Miguel island in the Azores, in Vila Franca do Campo. Surrounded by the typical intense green Azorean vegetation and situated metres from the historic town centre, it is the island's most visited beach. The natural reserve of Vila Franca do Campo Islet, an ancient volcanic caldera, lies just offshore. Near Mosteiros Beach.
