Praia Fluvial do Alamal stretches along the left bank of the Tagus River, in the parish of Belver, municipality of Gavião, district of Portalegre. Surrounded by a peaceful riverside landscape and overlooking Castelo de Belver, set on a rocky promontory on the opposite bank, it is often named one of the best river beaches in Portugal. It has full facilities for a river bathing area, including a bar, restaurant, water-sports equipment hire and grassy areas in the shade of trees, making it an all-day destination for swimmers and for those seeking calm-water sports such as kayaking or pedal boats.
