About this beach
Doca do Cavacas, also known as Poças do Governador, is a cluster of volcanic-rock natural pools in the Lido area of Funchal, where the sea flows in to fill small tanks of crystal-clear water. Refurbished with walkways and facilities, it is a safe spot for bathing and snorkelling at the edge of the Atlantic, with a restaurant beside the pools.
