About this beach
The Fisgas de Ermelo, in the municipality of Mondim de Basto, within the Parque Natural do Alvão, are formed by the fall of the rio Olo over about 200 metres — one of the tallest waterfalls in Portugal. The natural pool at the base of the cascade is a sought-after destination for those who combine a refreshing swim with walks through the Parque Natural do Alvão. Access is via a pedestrian trail, in a setting of granite and mountain vegetation.
