Praia Fluvial do Vale do Rossim sits at about 1,450 metres above sea level, on Lagoa do Vale do Rossim, in Portugal’s largest glacial valley, in the municipality of Gouveia. It is considered the country’s highest river beach, surrounded by dense pine forest and the granite cliffs of Serra da Estrela. The cold waters and high-mountain landscape draw both summer bathers and hikers exploring the nearby glacial trails. Distinguished with the Quercus Praia Dourada award for several years.
