Praia Fluvial da Portagem sits in the waters of the River Sever, at Portagem, in the municipality of Marvão, Portalegre district. Part of the Centro de Lazer da Portagem — which also includes support swimming pools with changing facilities — the beach lies between two historic bridges of the village, with a view of the torre da Portagem. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful river beaches in the Alto Alentejo and serves as a gateway to the historic walled town of Marvão, perched at over 860 metres in the Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede, with views that reach Spain on clear days. The area is popular both for a refreshing dip in summer and for exploring the trails and heritage of the mountain range.
