About this beach
Praia da Duquesa, in the heart of Cascais, is flanked by the Chalet Faial and the Palácio Duques de Palmela; at low tide its sand merges with the neighbouring Praia da Conceição, forming the largest continuous stretch of sand on the Cascais/Estoril seafront. Sheltered by the Cascais headland from the stronger Atlantic swell, it has calm, family-friendly waters, backed by the town's beachfront promenade — bars, restaurants and water-sports operators. It holds the Blue Flag.
