About this beach

Praia Fluvial de Mourão is the largest certified beach on the Alqueva reservoir — Europe's largest artificial lake — located just one kilometre from the Alentejo town of Mourão, in the district of Évora. With 320 metres of golden sand, of which 100 metres are monitored by two lifeguards, the beach holds a Blue Flag, a floating children's pool, a picnic area with barbecue grills, an amphitheatre and adapted access for people with reduced mobility. Alqueva is also a Starlight-certified Dark Sky Reserve, making this destination equally appealing on summer nights.
