Bordeira Beach
Aljezur, Faro
About this beach
Bordeira Beach is one of the vastest and most unspoilt beaches in Portugal, stretching approximately 4 kilometres of golden sand and lush dunes beside the village of Carrapateira, in the municipality of Aljezur within the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. The small Bordeira river crosses the dune system and flows into the sea, creating a unique freshwater estuary alongside the Atlantic. The remote access and absence of commercial infrastructure preserve an almost untouched landscape, greatly prized by advanced surfers and those seeking solitude in nature.
