About this beach
Praia de São Julião is a large, open sandy cove carved by cliff erosion at the mouth of the Ribeira do Falcão, on the northern edge of Sintra municipality (São João das Lampas parish). It is a popular bathing beach in season with good support infrastructure, and its exposure to Atlantic swell also draws surfers and bodyboarders. It holds the Blue Flag.
