Praia da Azarujinha
Cascais, Lisbon
About this beach
Praia da Azarujinha, in São João do Estoril, is the smallest beach on the Costa do Estoril — about 45 metres long — tucked into a natural cliff amphitheatre at the end of the Cascais promenade. The name dates back to 1901, honouring the Conde de Azarujinha, whose palace overlooked the cove. Sheltered from the wind, it is popular with families, with a lifeguard from May to September. At its edge sits the Miradouro da Azarujinha, one of the area's favourite sunset-watching spots.
