About this beach
Praia de São Pedro do Estoril, in the small Baforeira bay, is a 5-minute walk from São Pedro do Estoril station, on the Cais do Sodré-Cascais line. It is bordered by a pier on one side and by Ponta do Sal, a 90-to-120-million-year-old limestone platform that shelters the beach and holds seawater in rock fissures, forming natural tide pools popular with families. The Área Marinha Protegida das Avencas, just to the west, protects this stretch of coast. It holds the Blue Flag.
