About this beach
Praia Pequena sits between Praia Grande and Praia das Maçãs, in Colares (Sintra), within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park — the smaller, more sheltered companion to Praia Grande, protected from northerly winds. Access is difficult, bordered by cliffs (some at risk of collapse), via a pedestrian clifftop path with three lookout/rest points; it has no beach facilities. It is favoured by bodyboarders, surfers and sport fishermen more than casual bathers.
