About this beach
Praia de Vila Chã, in Vila do Conde, is a Blue Flag and Gold Quality beach that preserves the atmosphere of an old fishing village, with typical two-storey houses and colourful boats beside the sand. Access is via wooden walkways, ramps and stairs crossing rocky formations — the beach is part of the Regional Protected Landscape of the Vila do Conde Coastline and the walkway network of the Ecovia do Litoral, linking Mindelo to Labruge. The rocky outcrops create more sheltered natural pools, popular with families with children. It has a seasonal lifeguard, car park, beach facilities with restaurant and bar, toilets, showers and a playground nearby. It is one of the six officially accessible beaches in the municipality.
